IMI hosts AIT general assembly<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) will host
\nthe 13th general assembly of the Alliance de Tour Internationale
\n(AIT) in Nusa Dua, Bali this weekend.<\/p>\n
M. Yusuf, chairman of the organizing committee, said here
\nyesterday that 100 delegates from the Alliance's Asia Pacific
\ncountries would be attending the congress on May 25 and 26.<\/p>\n
Paul A. Nouwen, President of the Alliance, and Don MacKay,
\nchairman of the Alliance's Asia Pacific region, will attend the
\ncongress. They will both arrive in Bali a day before the congress
\nbegins.<\/p>\n
The biennial congress, which will be officially opened by
\nMinister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunication Joop Ave and
\nBalinese Governor Ida Bagus Oka, will discuss air pollution,
\ntourism, traffic regulations and security.<\/p>\n
So far the Association has launched an international driving
\nlicense and a Carnet de Passage for cars entering the country for
\ntourism. The Alliance, which will be celebrating its 100th
\nbirthday next year, will also provide constructive information
\nabout driving regulations and tourism here.<\/p>\n
\"It's an honor for the association to host the 13th regional
\ncongress,\" M. Yusuf said.<\/p>\n
The Alliance's Asia Pacific region has 18 members: Australia,
\nSingapore, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, Bangladesh,
\nIndia, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, New Zealand,
