IMF names new RI agent<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The International Monetary Fund announced on
\nTuesday that David Nellor would succeed John Dodsworth as the
\nsenior resident representative in Indonesia when the latter's
\nterm concluded at the end of this month.<\/p>\n
The IMF said in a press statement that Nellor was currently
\nthe assistant director of the Fund's regional office for Asia
\nPacific.<\/p>\n
It added that the Australian citizen, who joined the IMF in
\n1982, was previously the resident representative in the
\nPhilippines.<\/p>\n
The statement said that Dodsworth, who has been the IMF's
\nrepresentative in Jakarta since October 1999, would take up a
\nsenior appointment in the European department at the IMF
\nheadquarters in Washington.<\/p>\n
The IMF is providing a multi-billion dollar bailout loan to
\nIndonesia. Late last year, the fund suspended the disbursement of
\nits next US$400 million loan tranche to the country amid signs
\nthat the government was wavering with the implementation of a key
\neconomic reform program.<\/p>\n
The IMF is expected to disburse the loan sometime in
