The illegal parking in the Blok M Square area, besides harming the
public, also harms the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Jakarta
(ANTARA) - The Special Committee (Pansus) on Parking Management of the
DKI Jakarta DPRD has sealed the illegal parking area at Blok M Square,
Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, to protect public interests and original
regional revenue (PAD). “The sealing is carried out to protect potential
losses to original regional revenue,” said the Chairman of the Pansus on
Parking Management of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jupiter, in Jakarta on
Monday. According to him, the illegal parking in the Blok M Square area,
besides harming the public, also harms the DKI Jakarta Provincial
Government. For this reason, the Pansus, together with the executive in
this case the Parking Unit (UP) of the DKI Jakarta Transportation
Agency, has sealed the illegal parking, and this will continue in other
areas. Jupiter assured that the sealing and inspection are efforts to
supervise parking in DKI Jakarta. “We are protecting the rights of the
public,” he said at the sealing location. Previously, Jupiter stated
that the pansus is encouraging the digitalisation of the parking system
to strengthen transaction recording, including closing potential
regional revenue leakages. “Digitalisation must be carried out. All
operators are required to use a cashless (non-cash) payment system,” he
said. He assessed that off-street parking or parking facilities located
outside the main road separated from general traffic have great
potential to increase Original Regional Revenue (PAD). He also mentioned
that many buildings in Jakarta have parking areas managed by operators.
Therefore, the Pansus requests that revenue supervision no longer rely
on manual recording. In addition to non-cash payments, the Pansus also
highlighted the implementation of the Electronic Transaction Parking Tax
(E-TRAPT) in real time by the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda).
",
