Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, the spokesperson for the Nusantara
Capital City (IKN) Authority and concurrently the Head of the IKN
Authority’s Public Communication Staff, passed away on Saturday (25/7).
The man who was one of the pioneering officials in the new capital city
breathed his last due to natural causes in his residential room at ASN
Flat 3, Tower 6, Nusantara City.

Deputy for Development Control of the IKN Authority, Thomas Umbu Pati
Tena Bolodadi, confirmed that a team of doctors from Hermina IKN
Hospital declared Troy had died at 14:25 Central Indonesia Time after
being rushed to the hospital on Saturday afternoon. “He was taken to the
hospital at around 12:45 WITA and was immediately examined by the
medical team. At 14:25 WITA, the doctors confirmed he had died of
natural causes,” said Thomas, who lived directly opposite the late
Troy’s room number 102, on Saturday evening.

The incident began when Troy was scheduled to depart for Balikpapan
at 08:00 WITA to lead a service at a local church. According to
information gathered, the deceased had woken up and been active as
normal since 06:00 WITA. However, suspicion arose when his personal
driver tried to contact him ahead of the departure time. Repeated phone
calls to the driver went unanswered. Worried that something had
happened, the driver took the initiative to visit Troy’s room
directly.

“The door was knocked on and his name was called, but there was still
no answer. We then decided to force open the locked door. When we
managed to open it, we found him lying on the bed,” Thomas said. Upon
examination at the scene, Troy was found to be not breathing. To
ascertain his condition medically, the IKN Authority immediately rushed
him to the nearest hospital. Based on the initial physical examination,
Thomas stressed there were no suspicious signs on Troy’s body. The
family conveyed that Troy had a medical history of hypertension (high
blood pressure) and took daily medication to manage his health
condition.

After administrative processes and a final tribute at Hermina IKN
Hospital, the body of Troy Pantouw was flown directly to Jakarta. The
authorities estimated the body would arrive at the family home in
Jakarta on Sunday morning (26/7). Troy’s passing leaves deep sorrow for
the entire IKN Authority. He was known as one of the first generation of
officials who guarded the new chapter of relocating the nation’s
capital. In the early days of his service, Troy had to endure a
challenging phase when the IKN area was still an industrial timber
plantation without building facilities. He and other staff had to
commute from Balikpapan, a two-hour drive each way, to oversee the
strategic national project until they could finally settle in the ASN
flats in Nusantara.
",
