The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) opened slightly lower on Friday and is expected to trade sideways with an upward bias. Mixed movements across Asian bourses and a rebound on Wall Street, driven by tech and semiconductor stocks, are influencing the market. A temporary peace deal between the US and Iran has also eased geopolitical tensions, contributing to a decline in oil prices.

The IHSG opened down 10 points, or 0.18 percent, at 6,161 at the
start of trading on Friday, 19 June 2026.

Head of Retail Research at BNI Sekuritas, Fanny Suherman, predicted
the IHSG has the potential to be flat (sideways) with a tendency to
strengthen in today’s trading. “We estimate the IHSG today will be
sideways with a tendency to strengthen,” Fanny said in her daily
research note on Friday.

She noted that stock movements on Asian exchanges were varied during
Thursday’s trading. Meanwhile, oil prices weakened again after the US
and Iran signed a temporary peace agreement, opening the possibility of
ending the conflict in the Middle East. The market is also still
observing the implementation developments of the agreement, given that
geopolitical uncertainty has not fully subsided. The deal extends the
ceasefire announced last April by an additional 60 days, providing space
for both countries to negotiate a permanent peace agreement.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index surged 1.65 percent, and the Topix
strengthened 1.37 percent. In South Korea, the Kospi index jumped 2.25
percent, while the Kosdaq corrected 3.01 percent. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s
Hang Seng fell 1.59 percent, Taiwan’s Taiex rose 1.28 percent, and
Australia’s ASX 200 weakened 0.62 percent. On the other hand,
Singapore’s FTSE Straits Times Index added 0.08 percent and Malaysia’s
FTSE KLCI gained 0.70 percent.

“IHSG support is at the 6,130-6,080 level, while IHSG resistance is
in the 6,200-6,230 range,” she stated.

For information, Wall Street stock indices rebounded in Thursday’s
trading, after the previous session was pressured by signals from the
Fed that opened the possibility of an interest rate hike this year. The
rally was led by technology and semiconductor stocks. The Nasdaq
Composite surged 1.91 percent, the S&P 500 jumped 1.08 percent, and
the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.14 percent. Meanwhile,
chipmaker stocks were the main driver of the market rally. Intel shares
soared 10.6 percent after US President Donald Trump announced that Intel
would partner with Apple in chip development and design in the US.
",
