Indonesia's composite stock index (IHSG) slipped 0.12%, or 8.29 points, to 6,628.19 in Monday's first trading session, dragged down chiefly by major banking stocks such as Bank Central Asia, Bank Rakyat Indonesia and Bank Mandiri. Gains in the energy and healthcare sectors, led by Bumi Resources, were insufficient to offset weakness in the financial and property sectors. The market faces a data-heavy week, with domestic figures on foreign reserves and consumer confidence alongside global cues including ECB rate decisions and US inflation.

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) ended
in the red in the first trading session on Monday (7/9/2026). The index
weakened by 8.29 points, or 0.12%, to 6,628.19.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the IHSG
opened higher at 6,652.09. The index then moved erratically, touching a
high of 6,667.75 and a low of 6,620.52.

In the first session, the value of share transactions reached around
Rp8.45 trillion, with a trading volume of 23.63 billion shares across
1.31 million transactions.

A total of 312 stocks advanced, 305 declined, and 346 others were
unchanged.

Pressure on the IHSG came mainly from several large-capitalisation
stocks in the financial sector. Bank Central Asia (BBCA) was the biggest
drag, contributing 9.39 points to the decline, followed by Bank Rakyat
Indonesia (BBRI) at 7.76 points and Bank Mandiri (BMRI) at 3.47
points.

On the other hand, several stocks supported the index’s movement.
Bumi Resources (BUMI) provided the greatest support, contributing 5.47
points to the rise, followed by Bayan Resources (BYAN) at 3.03 points
and United Tractors (UNTR) at 1.81 points.

By sector, energy posted the strongest gain at 1.45%, followed by
healthcare at 1.42%. The utilities sector rose 0.25% and consumer
staples strengthened 0.13%.

Meanwhile, the deepest pressure came from the property sector, which
fell 1.22%. The financial sector weakened 0.86%, consumer non-staples
corrected 0.58%, and basic materials declined 0.47%.

Thus, despite significant gains in energy and healthcare stocks, the
strengthening was not enough to offset pressure from banking stocks and
the property sector in the first session.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s financial market faces a packed week with a
series of domestic and global data releases that could influence the
direction of the rupiah, the stock market, and foreign capital
flows.

Domestically, attention is on foreign exchange reserves, consumer
confidence, and retail sales, while externally the market will be
watching Chinese data, the European Central Bank’s (ECB) interest rate
decision, and US inflation.

This series of events will shape sentiment, particularly as
expectations over Federal Reserve policy strengthen again following
solid US labour market data.

Dollar movements, global bond yields, and investor appetite for
emerging market assets are likely to be the main drivers for the
Indonesian market throughout the week.
",
