        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Former Indonesian Transport Minister Ignasius\nJonan attended the funeral home of Maria Bernadeth Latifah Oetama to\noffer condolences on Thursday afternoon (28 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>According to Kompas.com\u2019s observations at the scene, Jonan arrived at\n15:43 WIB wearing a white shirt and black trousers. He immediately\napproached the coffin where Latifah\u2019s body was laid.<\/p>\n<p>After offering prayers, Jonan joined Muhammad Qodari, Head of the\nPresidential Communication Bureau, who had already been seated with\nLatifah\u2019s family at a round table.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is truly remarkable, her age above 90, and may her children,\nMr.\u00a0Liliek and siblings, find strength. After all, at over 90, we pray\nfor the best,\u201d Jonan said at the funeral home on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>While sitting with Qodari, Jonan listened to stories from Latifah\u2019s\nchildren. He admitted not knowing Latifah personally but was familiar\nwith her husband, Jakob Oetama, and their son Liliek Oetama.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did not know the deceased well. I knew Mr.\u00a0Yakob, and Mr.\u00a0Liliek,\nas well as her family,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Jonan had sent a black and yellow wreath to the funeral\nhome.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe condolences of Maria Bernadeth Latifah Oetama, mother of\nMr.\u00a0Lilik Oetama.
