If I were the president of Indonesia, the first thing I would
\ndo is build as many prisons as possible. Then I would order the
\npolice to capture and imprison every corruptor, which includes
\ncorrupt tycoons, from government officials right up to the
\npresident, directors of state-owned enterprises, directors of
\ncompanies belonging to tycoons etc.<\/p>\n
Most rich Indonesians would probably go to jail, because only
\na small number have made their fortunes honestly, while the rest
\nare no more than thieves of various sizes.<\/p>\n
Those involved in hoodlum-like activities, under the guise of
\nsocial organizations, would also be categorized as the enemy of
\nthe people, hence their leaders would be kept behind bars, while
\ntheir followers would be given a choice: Repent or follow them to
\nprison!<\/p>\n
Farmers would be given sufficient land as well as technical
\nand financial help. More money would have to be printed to fund
\nall this, which would be against the IMF's guidelines and would
\ncreate inflation.<\/p>\n
This new government would provide financial assistance to
\nanyone who could produce anything that could be sold, from pins
\nto planes. On the other hand, professionals relying on the
\n\"smartness of tongue\", like lawyers, politicians, economic
\nadvisors and so forth would be suppressed as they do not benefit
\nthe public.<\/p>\n
With foreign thieves, like Freeport and others, a new
\nagreement would be made, which would allow them to take only 20
\npercent of what they have mined. The agreement would be
\nretroactive, so that all previously unbalanced profit-sharing
\nwould be regarded as outstanding loans payable within a certain
\nperiod. Their countries would be responsible for these loans,
\njust like the IMF now pressurizes the Indonesian government to
\nrepay private loans taken out by corrupt local tycoons.<\/p>\n
Should the world, in particular the United States and its
\nallies, threaten to impose an embargo, then I would say: \"Me
\nafraid? Never!\"<\/p>\n
