        "content": "<p>Selling pressure in the domestic stock market has become increasingly\nunstoppable. The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Composite plummeted by\n311.795 points, or 4.64 per cent, to the level of 6,411.525 ahead of the\nclose of the first trading session on Monday (18\/05\/2026). The IDX\nComposite opened at 6,628.976 and briefly touched a high of\n6,631.282.<\/p>\n<p>The decline in the index occurred amidst the dominance of stocks\nmoving in negative territory. A total of 704 stocks declined, while only\n66 stocks strengthened and 47 remained stagnant. Trading activity was\nobserved to be high, with transaction volumes reaching 18.297 billion\nshares.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Market Analyst at Mirae Asset Sekuritas, Nafan Aji Gusta,\nassessed that pressure in the domestic stock market remains quite\nsignificant amidst the continuation of foreign capital outflows and\nincreasing global geopolitical risks. According to the Indonesia Stock\nExchange, the IDX Composite recorded a daily net foreign sell of Rp 1.35\ntrillion. Meanwhile, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, net foreign selling\nhas reached Rp 49.28 trillion, with the IDX Composite performance\ncorrecting by 22.25 per cent throughout the current year.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Stochastics KD indicator still shows a negative signal,\nwhile trading volume has been recorded as decreasing.
