        "content": "<p>IDB guarantees RI's LCs<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has agreed to<br>\nextend a US$240 million guarantee on letters of credit to the<br>\nIndonesian Exporters Association.<\/p>\n<p>The bank was quoted by Antara as saying yesterday that the<br>\nfacility would allow association members to export commodities<br>\nsuch as coffee, tea, textiles and plywood to Jordan, Saudi Arabia<br>\nand Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia's trade has been hard hit in the current economic<br>\ncrisis by the refusal of a number of foreign banks to honor<br>\nletters of credit from the country following the plunge of the<br>\nrupiah by more than 80 percent in value against the U.S. dollar<br>\nsince July last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank promotes trade among<br>\nIslamic member states.<\/p>",
