ID card raids planned<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: East Jakarta mayoralty will conduct ID card raids in
\ncertain parts of the mayoralty in anticipation of the influx that
\nusually occurs after the Lebaran holidays.<\/p>\n
The raids will be conducted a week after Idul Fitri at bus
\nstations, houses and boarding houses, as well as on the streets,
\nspokesman of the East Jakarta mayoralty, Rusli Kahar, was quoted
\nby beritajakarta.com as saying.<\/p>\n
Rusli added, East Jakarta was already packed with 1.1 million
\nresidents, and called for Lebaran travelers not to bring their
\nunskilled relatives to the area.<\/p>\n
Non-Jakarta residents will be required to equip themselves
\nwith letters explaining their temporary stay and their occupation
\nwhile staying in the city, as well as a guarantee of
\naccommodation.<\/p>\n
\"If anyone is caught without those letters, we will not
\nhesitate to send them back to their village,\" Rusli said.<\/p>\n
In carrying out the raids, the East Jakarta mayoralty will be
\nassisted by city public order officials, along with the city
