        "content": "<p>The Executive Director of the Information and Communication\nTechnology (ICT) Institute, Heru Sutadi, stated that mobile operators\nmust create a mechanism for the accumulation (rollover) of remaining\ninternet data that is simple, transparent, and does not burden\ncustomers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMobile operators should not provide a rollover mechanism or other\nforms of protection for remaining data, only for customers to face\ncomplicated requirements to use them,\u201d Heru told ANTARA on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Heru emphasised that education for customers regarding the mechanism\nfor accumulating remaining data must be delivered simply, reach all\nusers, and be provided before customers purchase internet packages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInformation should not be hidden within lengthy terms and conditions\nor in fine print,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, operators are encouraged to provide channels that make\nit easy for customers to monitor usage and remaining data in\nreal-time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe principle is simple: consumers must know what they are buying,\nwhat their rights are, and what happens to their remaining data,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>Heru believes that the implementation of internet data protection\nmust maintain a balance between consumer protection and the\nsustainability of the telecommunications industry. This is in line with\nthe Constitutional Court (MK) ruling, which serves as the legal basis\nfor regulations regarding remaining internet data.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, he noted that the government needs to conduct\nsupervision and evaluate compliance reports submitted by operators\nperiodically to ensure that data protection provisions are truly\nimplemented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government must ensure that these rules are actually enforced,\nrather than just existing on paper,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Constitutional Court ruling established that telecommunications\nproviders are obliged to provide service options that guarantee users\u2019\nremaining data remains active and usable.<\/p>",
