        "content": "<p>Deputy Chair of Indonesia\u2019s People\u2019s Consultative Assembly, Edhie\nBaskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas), has emphasised that strengthening inclusive\nand equitable Islamic economics represents a key strategy for promoting\ncommunity welfare at the grassroots level. According to Ibas, this\neconomic system based on Islamic principles is not merely a financial\nmatter but serves as an instrument to strengthen micro-entrepreneurs and\nregional economies.<\/p>\n<p>Ibas conveyed this message during a dialogue forum titled \u201cInclusive\nIslamic Economics, Equitable, Prosperous Indonesia\u201d in Madiun, East\nJava. \u201cIslamic economics must be capable of empowering communities from\nthe bottom up. If UMKMs and people\u2019s economies are strong, then families\nare strong, regions are strong, and ultimately our nation becomes\nstronger,\u201d Ibas stated in a press release on Monday (2 March).<\/p>\n<p>Ibas highlighted several challenges in developing Islamic economics\nin Indonesia, ranging from low financial literacy to difficult financing\naccess for rural communities. He urged closer integration between the\neducation sector, financial institutions, and business operators.<\/p>\n<p>Ibas also emphasised the importance of easy capital access for UMKMs\nthrough the Islamic People\u2019s Business Credit (KUR Syariah) scheme. He\nrequested that financing procedures be simplified whilst remaining\nproductive. \u201cCapital access must be easy, not complicated. Appropriate\nfinancing will create employment opportunities and stimulate local\neconomies,\u201d said the Chairman of the Democratic Party Faction in the\nHouse of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>During the dialogue session, Ibas responded to aspirations from\nlecturers and students from Muhammadiyah University Ponorogo and UIN\nPonorogo regarding women\u2019s roles in UMKMs and obstacles to accessing KUR\nin villages. He proposed establishing mentor communities for residents\nwishing to access banking services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUniversities and lecturers must become motors of education. Young\npeople should not merely seek employment but dare to create ventures\nbased on Islamic values that benefit society,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
