        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Vice Chair of the People\u2019s Consultative Assembly of the\nRepublic of Indonesia (MPR RI) Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono, known as Ibas,\nhas paid tribute to the late sixth Vice President of Indonesia Try\nSutrisno, remembering him as an exemplary figure in upholding the\nnation\u2019s constitutional values.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement issued in Jakarta on Monday, Ibas expressed his\ncondolences over Try Sutrisno\u2019s passing and acknowledged that his\ndedication to democracy and the nation\u2019s development would be remembered\nthrough his service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA figure who was not only a national leader but also an example in\nupholding constitutional values. In every aspect of his service, he\nalways fought for the nation\u2019s constitution for the sake of justice and\nthe prosperity of the people. He served as Chief of\nStaff of the Army from 1986 to 1988 and as Commander of the Armed Forces\nfrom 1988 to 1993, before later serving as Vice President.<\/p>\n<p>A military honour ceremony accompanied his passing, reflecting the\nhighest recognition of his services to the nation and state. His coffin,\ndraped with the Red and White flag, was escorted to the burial site by\nthe Presidential Security Forces before being laid to rest with full\nmilitary honours.<\/p>\n<p>The funeral ceremony was also attended by President Prabowo Subianto,\nIndonesia\u2019s sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Vice President\nGibran Rakabuming Raka, tenth and twelfth Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla,\nand eleventh Vice President Boediono.
