During his journey, the narrow, rocky, and slippery road access\nprevented the official vehicle from proceeding to Salamwates in\nTrenggalek Regency. Ibas continued the trip on a resident\u2019s motorbike to\nreach the remote village settlement.<\/p>\n
In his visit, he inspected the regional access conditions and basic\ncommunity services, including household electricity needs. He also\ndirectly reviewed the new electricity installation aid for\nresidents.<\/p>\n
One of the houses he visited belonged to Sukarni, a beneficiary of\nthe New Electricity Installation Assistance Programme (BPBL). The simple\nhouse is now illuminated by electric light, bringing new hope to their\ndaily family life.<\/p>\n
Ibas entered the residents\u2019 home, directly observing the three lit\nlight points and one installed socket through the aid. He also dialogued\nwith the beneficiary family, listening to their life stories while\nencouraging them to remain optimistic in facing life.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow we are very grateful, sir. Please maintain and care for the\nelectricity. This aid provides three indoor light points and one socket\nwith 900 watts capacity. Hopefully, the house becomes brighter, more\ncomfortable for activities, and more productive every day,\u201d said Ibas in\nhis statement on Sunday (10\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Democratic Party Faction in the Indonesian House\nof Representatives emphasised that electricity access is not merely\nabout lighting but part of the basic rights of the community for a more\ndecent life. According to him, even communities in remote areas must\nreceive the same attention and services from the state.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want that even in remote areas, the community can fully enjoy\nelectricity access. This is citizens\u2019 right. The state must be present,\nand we, together with PLN, are committed to continuing to fight for it,\u201d\nIbas asserted.<\/p>\n
He also appreciated PLN, which he assessed as continuously working to\nbring electricity to remote regions in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you once again to PLN. This is a state-owned enterprise, a\nBUMN that we all pride ourselves on. Its task is to electrify the entire\nnation. This is part of social justice that we must maintain so that\nelectricity shines wherever the community is,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
However, behind the joy of seeing lights starting to shine in\nresidents\u2019 homes, Ibas admitted to being touched upon seeing many houses\nstill in unfit conditions. The focus of his inspection even shifted\nmomentarily when witnessing the concerning conditions of residents\u2019\nhouses directly.<\/p>\n
Ibas then urged village apparatus to continue updating and providing\nreal data on communities needing aid, both for electricity access and\nBSPS programmes or house renovations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is still much that we must continue to support. From road\naccess that needs improvement, residents\u2019 houses that are not yet\ndecent, to electricity availability. We must monitor each one together.\nI am saddened if there are still communities whose lives are not\ndecent,\u201d he expressed.<\/p>\n
Ibas conveyed that if there are residents with concerning house\nconditions, he is ready to push for house renovation aid to be provided\nthrough available government programmes.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there are communities here whose houses are indeed not decent,\ninsyaallah we will try to help with the renovations. Last year in\nTrenggalek, approximately 200 houses were successfully monitored to\nreceive aid. Hopefully, this can bring spirit and new hope for the\ncommunity to live better,\u201d said Ibas.<\/p>\n
He also ensured that Sukarni is registered in the Integrated Social\nWelfare Data (DTKS), so in the future, he has the opportunity to receive\nother social aids according to needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr Sukarni is registered in DTKS. So, besides electricity aid, if\nthere are other life difficulties, he can also receive social\nassistance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In Salamwates Village, there are seven other houses that also\nreceived electricity installation aid. Ibas hopes such programmes\ncontinue to be expanded so more communities feel the benefits of the\nstate\u2019s presence.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there are still communities needing aid, please PLN continue\nproviding services.
