Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Association of Environmental and\nSanitary Engineering (IATPI) is collaborating with the Indonesian\nNational Consultants Association (Inkindo) of Jakarta to enhance the\nquality of consultants.<\/p>\n
IATPI General Chairman Endra Saleh Atmawidjaja emphasised that this\ncooperation serves as a momentum to align consultant competency\nstandards with market needs, spanning both the government and private\nsectors.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a good opportunity to build a mutual understanding regarding\nthe importance of improving the quality of consultants, particularly\nthose with environmental engineering backgrounds. We recognise that the\ndemand for professional services in the environmental engineering field\nabsorbed by consultants has shown an increase year after year,\u201d Endra\nstated in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He added that the association\u2019s primary focus is not merely to meet\nthe quantity of experts required for increasing project demands, but\nalso to ensure the quality of the experts working in the field is\ncontinuously improved.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, today we are signing a memorandum of understanding to\ncommit to providing experts who are more capable of meeting the\nexpectations of owners,\u201d said Endra.<\/p>\n
As the demand for environmental engineering consultancy services\ncontinues to surge, IATPI and Inkindo Jakarta have officially agreed on\na strategic partnership. This collaboration, formalised through the\nsigning of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), focuses on improving the\nhuman resource quality of consultants in the fields of environmental and\nsanitary engineering to address increasingly complex and dynamic\nindustry challenges.<\/p>\n
The scope of this cooperation is broad, targeting various vital\nsectors, including clean water supply, waste management, wastewater\ndistribution, drainage, and the preparation of environmental documents\nsuch as AMDAL (Environmental Impact Assessment) and KLHS (Strategic\nEnvironmental Assessment).<\/p>\n
To realise these goals, both parties are preparing a series of\nparallel agendas, ranging from technical training and the preparation of\nstrategic studies to the exchange of resource persons and the\nfacilitation of work competency certification through the IATPI\nEnvironmental Engineering Professional Certification Body (LSP).<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the collaboration is set to launch flagship strategic\nprogrammes, including the INKINDO\u2013IATPI Environmental Consulting\nAcademy, an ESG Programme, the Young Environmental Consultant\nInitiative, and an Urban Resilience Forum. This initiative will also\nstrengthen member capacity in applying Environmental, Social, and\nGovernance (ESG) principles and addressing issues related to climate\nchange and urban sanitation.<\/p>\n
Recognising the potential success in Jakarta, IATPI is prepared to\nexpand this collaboration to a broader level.<\/p>\n
