The Rector of the State Christian Institute (IAKN) Kupang, I Made\nSuardana, was allegedly assaulted by former IAKN Kupang rector, Harun\nNatonis. The incident took place in the courtyard of the IAKN Kupang\nPostgraduate School in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Monday (31\/8\/2026)\nmorning.<\/p>\n
As a result of the assault, Made had to be rushed to Bhayangkara\nHospital (RSB) Kupang for medical treatment. \u201cI was assaulted this\nmorning, after the morning assembly had finished,\u201d said Made from the\nICU ward of RSB Kupang.<\/p>\n
Made explained that the incident began when, after the morning\nassembly, Harun suddenly approached him and questioned the handling of a\npromotion matter which he claimed had not been resolved for around two\nyears.<\/p>\n
Responding to the question, Made replied that the matter had been\nattended to all along. \u201cI answered at the time that if the required\ndecree documents were available, the processing could be carried out\nimmediately,\u201d Made explained.<\/p>\n
According to Made, Harun made a statement to him shortly before the\nassault occurred. \u201cNot long after, Harun Natonis struck me once in the\nchest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Made has reported the assault to the Kupang City Police (Polresta\nKupang Kota). He hopes the case will be handled thoroughly. \u201cMy chest is\nstill sore at the moment, and the doctor said earlier that I need to be\nhospitalised,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation at Polresta Kupang\nKota, AKP Jumpatua Simanjorang, confirmed that a report of assault had\nbeen received. \u201cYes, that is correct. The victim filed a police report\nthis afternoon. A report of assault,\u201d said Jumpatua.<\/p>\n
He stated that the victim has undergone a post-mortem examination\n(visum et repertum) at Bhayangkara Hospital. Made and several witnesses\nwill subsequently be questioned.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe plan is for the victim and witnesses to be summoned to the\nCriminal Investigation Unit tomorrow to provide statements,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
Jumpatua added that the article under which the suspect is charged\ncould change depending on the results of the post-mortem and the course\nof the investigation. \u201cFor now, the police report cites Article 466\nparagraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning assault,\u201d said Jumpatua.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will await the post-mortem results and the course of the\ninvestigation. The charge could change depending on the post-mortem\nresults.
