        "content": "<p>IABC represents private sector interests<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesia-Australia Business Council (IABC), established<br>\nin 1989, is recognized as the body which represents private-<br>\nsector interests in commercial relations between Indonesia and<br>\nAustralia.<\/p>\n<p>The formation of the IABC is the result of a merger between<br>\nDewan Kerja Sama Pengusaha Indonesia-Australia (DKSPIA) and the<br>\nAustralian Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (AUSTCHAM), two<br>\nbusiness groups that had operated in Indonesia for over 15 years<br>\nwith support from the business members of the Australian Alumni<br>\nAssociation of Indonesia (IKAMA).<\/p>\n<p>The IABC is affiliated with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce<br>\nand Industry (Kadin). This allows the IABC to represent the<br>\nbusiness and commercial interests of Indonesian and Australian<br>\nbusinesspeople engaged in bilateral trade through to government<br>\nlevels.<\/p>\n<p>The IABC is managed by an Executive Committee elected by the<br>\nmembership. The executive committee is supported by a National<br>\nSecretariat. There are IABC branches in Jakarta, Bali, Semarang<br>\n(Central Java) and Surabaya (East Java). Discussions are being<br>\nheld regarding the formation of a branch in Bandung.
