The Jakarta Post asked some
residents how they are dealing with the holiday hangover after
almost 10 days holiday during Idul Fitri.

Tirta, 28, works for an advertising company in Blok M, South
Jakarta. He lives in Bintaro, also in South Jakarta:

I just stayed at home during the long holiday, because my maid
returned to her hometown to celebrate Idul Fitri. So, the holiday
for me was a time for housework.

I was so tired because I had to return to work two days after
Idul Fitri, although the office was officially still on holiday.
My client has no such patience.

I wish I could have more holidays because I usually work
almost half the day six days a week, and sometimes I have to meet
clients and work with my team on the weekend.

And if I had that kind of holiday, ideally it should not be at
a time when everyone else is on holiday as well, particularly my
maid.

Ulisari, 22, works at a private company on Jl. Sudirman, South
Jakarta. She lives in a boarding house in Cawang subdistrict,
East Jakarta:

My friends and I were happy when the boss said that we would
have a break for Idul Fitri for six days starting Friday, Nov.
12. We immediately made a plan to spend the holiday out of town.

But unfortunately, the boss revised his decision. We only had
three days holiday from Saturday to Tuesday. Therefore, we had to
revise the plan for a short stay in Puncak, Bogor.

I didn't come to work on Wednesday.

I think four days is enough for the holiday. I felt quite
refreshed after that because I could escape from routine work.
But of course, I would be happier if I could have a longer
holiday.

--The Jakarta Post
",
