'I didn't know about a ban on supplements'<\/p>\n
Australia banned around 100 food supplements manufactured by Pan
\nPharmaceuticals Ltd. earlier this year. Following the ban, the
\nIndonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency called for pharmacies
\nto remove the drugs from the market. However, some drugstore
\nowners in the city remained in the dark about the withdrawal
\norder, as they told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
Liana, 60, is the owner of a drugstore on Jl. Matraman Raya,
\nCentral Jakarta. She lives nearby with her husband and two
\nchildren:<\/p>\n
I didn't know that the government withdrew the Australian
\nsupplements. I'll have my merchandise checked out soon.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, I don't sell many food supplements manufactured
\nby Australian companies. But if there are any, I would comply
\nwith the ban. It's my risk.<\/p>\n
Besides, I think only a few of my customers need such
\nsupplements, especially the imported ones.<\/p>\n
If it's true that the drugs have been withdrawn, I'm afraid I
\nwill suffer financial loses. I've already had several experiences
\nof authorities confiscating drugs thought to be hazardous to the
\npublic, and they didn't compensate for the losses.<\/p>\n
I wonder whether the withdrawal is just a trick among
\ncompetitors in the pharmaceutical business.<\/p>\n
I also wonder why so many people, including healthy people,
