It was one afternoon when I had lunch in a fast-food
\nrestaurant in Mal Ciputra, West Jakarta, that a man of Chinese
\ndescent, aged between 30 and 40, rather stocky with hair like
\nporcupine spines, approached me and asked to sit at my table. As
\nI like to have friends, I welcomed him.<\/p>\n
After telling me his story for quite a while, he said he had
\njust returned from the States a week ago and that he had with him
\na number of goods. He showed me the photocopy of his passport and
\nUSA Visa. I was interested in one of the items he offered as the
\nprice was reasonable. Then he asked me if I had cash, and I said
\nI did not. I told him, though, that I could use my ATM BCA card.
\nHe was happy to hear it as he had a BCA account and I therefore
\ncould simply transfer the money to his account.<\/p>\n
After the talk, he said I could see the goods at home and take
\nthe items I am interested in, and then transfer the money. Then
\nhe wrote something on a small piece of paper and gave it to me,
\nsaying it was the account number to which I had to make the
\ntransfer. When I got this small piece of paper I suddenly could
\nno longer control myself, and simply followed him to the nearest
\nATM to make the transfer. After completing the transfer, I turned
\nback and, in a matter of seconds, came to my senses and could
\nthink clearly. I realized to my horror that I had made the
\ntransfer.<\/p>\n
The transfer slip shows the name of Emilia Erlie and the
\nphotocopy of the passport, which he had left behind, shows the
\nfollowing details: Wongso Sujono, born in Belawan. Passport of
\nthe Republic of Indonesia No. K011563, issued by West Jakarta
\nImmigration office dated Jan. 12, 2000. The photocopy of the USA
\nVisa is also under the same name with control number
\n20010128860002, valid between Jan. 18, 2001 and Jan. 16, 2005,
\nwith a code inscription in the lower part of the visa reading;
