Asep<br>\nPriatna said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Singh, an Indian national, not a Pakistani national as<br>\nreported on Thursday, allegedly attempted to hypnotize rector<br>\nDidin Saefudin at the UIK campus on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Singh reportedly introduced himself to the rector as a<br>\nPakistani professor lecturing at Gadjah Mada University in<br>\nYogyakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia Syed Mustafa Anwer Husain<br>\nsaid on Thursday that Singh was not a Pakistani national.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;He (Singh) is an Indian national and the Indian Embassy in<br>\nJakarta has already arranged his release from Bogor Police<br>\ncustody,&quot; Husain said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post on<br>\nThursday.<\/p>\n<p>A councillor at the Indian Embassy in Jakarta, T.S. Tirimurti,<br>\ndeclined to comment on the issue, saying his office had no<br>\ndetailed information on Singh.<\/p>\n<p>The Bogor Police confirmed on Thursday that Singh was an<br>\nIndian national.<\/p>\n<p>Didin told the police on Wednesday that Singh came to the UIK<br>\ncampus and told him he would become rich and successful. The<br>\nrector told officers that he then unwillingly began to follow<br>\nSingh&apos;s suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>Singh reportedly told Didin he would return to the campus 21<br>\ndays from Wednesday. The Indian then wrote the figure US$200 on a<br>\nsheet of paper and handed it to the rector.<\/p>\n<p>Didin gave Singh Rp 50,000 but the Indian refused the money.<br>\nSingh then wrote Rp 1 million on the paper.<\/p>\n<p>Another university official called the police, who arrested<br>\nSingh on the campus on Jl. Soleh Iskandar.<\/p>\n<p>Didin said on Thursday he would forgive Singh if he offered an<br>\napology, but he hoped the police would continue their<br>\ninvestigation.<\/p>",
