        "content": "<p>The government is accelerating the reactivation process for Husein\nSastranegara Airport in Bandung. The Ministry of Transportation has even\nprepared two scenarios for the airport\u2019s reopening, with the initial\ntarget being that jet aircraft can resume limited operations starting 17\nAugust 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Air Transportation at the Ministry of\nTransportation, Lukman F. Laisa, stated that his party has completed an\noperational study and safety assessment as the basis for reactivating\nHusein Sastranegara Airport. Currently, the government\u2019s focus is on\nurging PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, as the airport operator, to accelerate\nthe fulfilment of all operational readiness aspects.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We are urging PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia to immediately follow up on\nfulfilling all aspects of operational readiness. We have prepared two\nscenarios,\u2019 Lukman said in an official statement on Thursday\n(9\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In the first scenario, Husein Airport is targeted to begin serving\njet aircraft flights on 17 August 2026 with a limited operation pattern.\nThe services opened include business flights, charter flights, and jet\nflights supported by basic infrastructure that is ready for use.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the second scenario targets full operations starting 17\nSeptember 2026. At this stage, the airport is targeted to be able to\nserve medium-body aircraft such as the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320\nthrough the implementation of a slot management system to maintain safe\nand orderly operational capacity.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve these targets, the Ministry of Transportation has asked\nAngkasa Pura Indonesia to accelerate a number of works on both the\nairside and landside. Some of the works that must be completed\nimmediately include the repair and overlay of the runway and taxiway,\napron reconstruction, terminal roof repairs, waterproofing work, and the\nimprovement of passenger service facilities.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, flight safety aspects are also a primary concern. The\nMinistry of Transportation is requesting the fulfilment of the Category\n7 Aviation Accident Assistance and Fire Fighting (PKP-PK) standard\nbefore the airport resumes full operations. To meet these needs, the\ngovernment is encouraging the utilisation of available assets, including\nthe mobilisation of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles\nfrom Kertajati Airport after the completion of the Hajj pilgrim\nrepatriation operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The entire process must continue to prioritise the principles of\nsafety, security, service, and compliance with civil aviation\nregulations,\u2019 Lukman stressed.<\/p>",
