        "content": "<p>Hundreds of empty and container-laden trailer trucks became\ngridlocked within Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta on Friday 13\nMarch.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Traffic Unit at North Jakarta Metro Police Kompol Ridha\nstated that a traffic accident caused a truck to overturn on a road near\nCheckpoint 9 at Tanjung Priok Port.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis accident has impacted vehicle traffic flow and created severe\ncongestion,\u201d he said, as quoted by Antara news agency.<\/p>\n<p>He said officers were currently evacuating the vehicle using tow\ntrucks in hopes of restoring traffic flow. \u201cThe truck has been evacuated\nand traffic flow is expected to resume,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>By late afternoon, some truck drivers had even shut off their engines\ndue to the stationary traffic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis long congestion has been going on for quite some time and I was\nforced to shut off my engine,\u201d said one truck driver, Yoga, near the\nentrance to Checkpoint I at Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The trucks lined up in a long queue from Kebon Bawang through to\nTanjung Priok Terminal and continuing to the Checkpoint I gate near\nTanjung Priok Port Police Station.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, long congestion also occurred in the opposite\ndirection, ranging from the Ancol area towards Checkpoint I at Tanjung\nPriok Port.<\/p>\n<p>Within the port area, a long queue also formed from Checkpoint I to\nthe exit route at Checkpoint 9 at Tanjung Priok Port on Friday\nafternoon. This queue caused drivers to shut off their engines and park\nwhilst waiting for traffic ahead to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>By 18:00 WIB, the extensive congestion had expanded to the Danau\nCincin area near Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). This location\nserves as a vehicle access point to Tanjung Priok Police Substation and\nextends through to Kebon Bawang.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, severe congestion also occurred on Jalan Yos Sudarso\nheading towards Checkpoint 9 at Tanjung Priok Port. Hundreds of vehicles\nwere unable to move closer to Indonesia\u2019s largest port.<\/p>",
