        "content": "<p>SEMARANG \u2014 Hundreds of students organised under the Greater Semarang\nAlliance staged a demonstration in front of the Central Java Provincial\nPolice Headquarters (Mapolda Jateng) on Thursday, 26 February 2026,\nafternoon. During the action, they highlighted and criticised the\nstalled Polri reform agenda. They also condemned the continued violence\nperpetrated by police, including the death of a junior secondary school\nstudent named Arianto Tawakal at the hands of Brimob personnel in Tual\nCity, Maluku, which occurred recently.<\/p>\n<p>The students unfurled banners containing protests against Polri.\nAmong them were slogans reading \u201cHold Police Accountable\u201d, \u201cPolice\nReform\u201d, \u201cJustice for Arianto.T\u201d, and \u201cRepression is Not the Solution:\nComplete Police Reform\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Kurnia Priambodo, Chairman of the Student Executive Board (BEM)\nof Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines), stated that the demonstration\nwith the primary agenda of calling for police reform in front of Mapolda\nJateng was attended by between 300-400 students. They came from\napproximately 15 universities in Semarang and its surroundings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this action, we are all in agreement that this is an action\ninitiated by the Greater Semarang Alliance. We do not want it to be\ninfiltrated by anyone present here,\u201d said Kevin when interviewed by\nmedia personnel.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the main demand of the Greater Semarang Alliance\nmasses was police reform. \u201cUntil this very moment we have still not seen\nany progress in police reform; rather, we are witnessing a regression,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>",
