        "content": "<p>Hundreds of convicts in corruption cases from various districts and\ncities in Indonesia have received remission, or sentence reductions, for\nEid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. These corruption convicts who received\nremission are spread across Jambi, Central Java, East Lombok, and\nMaluku. In Central Java, 8,872 inmates received remission, including 245\ncorruption convicts. The Head of the Directorate General of Corrections\nfor Central Java Region, Mardi Santoso, stated that out of these 8,872\ninmates, 61 are child inmates. \u201c57 inmates are directly released after\nreceiving remission,\u201d Mardi said in Semarang on Saturday (21\/3). He\nexplained that the majority of remission recipients are inmates\nconvicted of narcotics offences, numbering 3,157. Meanwhile, 245\ncorruption convicts received remission. \u201cOther recipients include\ninmates convicted of terrorism, illegal logging, and money laundering,\u201d\nhe said. The total number of inmates and detainees in various prisons\nand detention centres in Central Java reaches 16,298. According to him,\nremission is the state\u2019s recognition of inmates who have shown good\nbehaviour and actively participated in rehabilitation programmes during\ntheir sentences. He explained that remission is given to inmates who\nhave served at least six months of their sentence, have no disciplinary\nviolations, and have a final court decision. \u201cThis remission is hoped to\nmotivate inmates to continue behaving well and actively participating in\nrehabilitation programmes,\u201d he said. In Jambi, 27 corruption convicts\nalso received remission. In total, the Jambi Regional Office of the\nDirectorate General of Corrections granted remission to 3,724 inmates or\nchild inmates for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. The remission in Jambi\nconsists of Special Remission (RK) for inmates and Special Sentence\nReduction (PMPK) for child inmates. He\nexplained that out of the 155,908 special remission recipients, there\nare 154,785 inmates and 1,123 child inmates. Of the total inmates\nreceiving Eid RK, 153,642 received RK I or partial sentence reduction,\nwhile 1,143 received RK II or immediate release. Meanwhile, 1,104 child\ninmates received Special PMP I and 19 received Special PMP II or\nimmediate release. The largest number of RK and Special PMP Eid\nrecipients this year come from the West Java Regional Office (Kanwil)\nDitjenpas with 18,335 people, North Sumatra Kanwil Ditjenpas with 15,621\npeople, and East Java Kanwil Ditjenpas with 14,244 people.
