        "content": "<p>Bandung \u2013 A touching and spirited Ramadhan atmosphere filled Ibnu Umi\nMaktum Mosque at SLB Negeri A Pajajaran, Bandung, on Friday, 13 March\n2026, as hundreds of blind students from special schools across Greater\nBandung participated in a Qur\u2019an recitation completion programme,\nreligious address, and communal breaking of the fast.<\/p>\n<p>This spiritual milestone was particularly significant as the blind\nparticipants successfully completed the full Qur\u2019an recitation using\nBraille script.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by approximately 300 special school students,\n200 Islamic Education teachers from special schools across Greater\nBandung, and 200 members of the Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni)\nin Bandung.<\/p>\n<p>M Munir, Director of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious\nAffairs, explained that the Directorate of Islamic Education is\nresponsible for providing Islamic education guidance across various\neducational levels, from early childhood education through secondary\nschools, including special schools for students with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event involved 300 special school students and 200 Islamic\neducation teachers from special schools across Greater Bandung, as well\nas 200 members of Pertuni. These students are children blessed with\nspecial gifts from Almighty God and deserve our attention and care,\u201d\nsaid Munir in a statement on Saturday, 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Islamic education teachers working in special schools\nalso have a unique role. Some are themselves persons with disabilities,\nwhilst others are not, but all are required to possess exceptional\npatience and capabilities in supporting and educating their\nstudents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIslamic education teachers in special schools include both disabled\nand non-disabled educators. They are equally exceptional in that they\npossess the patience, strength and extra capability needed to accompany\nand teach special school students,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Religious\nAffairs, Amien Suyitno, also expressed appreciation to the blind\nstudents, teachers, and mentors from Pertuni who guided them to become\nproficient in reading and completing the Braille Qur\u2019an.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe may not see with our eyes, but we must not be blind in our hearts\nand spirit,\u201d said Amien whilst providing motivation to the students.<\/p>",
