Humpuss building still in dispute<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Governor Sutiyoso ordered Central Jakarta Mayor
\nAndy Subur Abdullah to clear the Humpuss and Timor buildings as
\nsoon as possible after they were sealed off on March 26.<\/p>\n
\"Tell them (the management) I cannot give them any more time,\"
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
The Humpuss and Timor buildings on Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur
\nwere sealed off on March 26 for violating Presidential Decree No.
\n25\/1995 on the development of the Medan Merdeka area. The decree
\nforbids private companies from building offices in the area,
\nincluding along Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur.<\/p>\n
The area, designed as a buffer zone for Medan Merdeka Square,
\nis where the National Monument (Monas) stands.<\/p>\n
The buildings' management was given a one-month period to
\nvacate the buildings after they were sealed off, but management
\nrepresentatives asked for a one-year extension, Andy said.<\/p>\n
Astrining Ati, a Humpuss group executive, said the
\nmanagement's executives had gone to the governor to ask for \"more
\ntime\" to settle the matter.<\/p>\n
\"Since last year, we have been trying to settle matters with
