Police stated that the\nexpression of opinion proceeded in a conducive manner.<\/p>\n<p>Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metro\nPolice (Polda Metro Jaya), ensured that the security operation for the\ndemonstration was conducted with a humanitarian approach and respect for\nhuman rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe implementation of this service and security was carried out with\na focus on protection, emphasising the humanitarian aspect and paying\nattention to human rights,\u201d Budi told journalists in front of the Police\nHeadquarters in South Jakarta on Friday, 27 February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Budi expressed his appreciation to all parties, despite some dynamics\noccurring on the ground. He stated that no public facilities were\ndamaged and no physical clashes occurred during the action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough during the activity we witnessed some students hurling\ninsults at police officers, and even writing unsavoury words on female\npolice officers\u2019 uniforms,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Budi stated that police conducted the security operation patiently\nand did not respond to provocations. He reminded protesters that\nexpressing aspirations during the holy month of Ramadan should maintain\nnorms and ethics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage, especially during this holy month of Ramadan, that\nthere are norms and ethics we must uphold. How we respect members of the\npublic who are fasting, even though there is a desire to express these\naspirations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Budi also ensured that the aspirations voiced by\nstudents would be heard by the police, including by National Police\nChief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as leader of the National Police\nCorps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis becomes an evaluation for us.
