Human Initiative (HI) is collaborating with local breeders to expand market access for sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah, aiming to boost the local economy while fulfilling religious obligations. The programme not only distributes meat to underprivileged communities in 145 Indonesian regions and 11 countries but also ensures quality control and flexible purchasing options to encourage wider participation. By empowering local livestock farmers and targeting food-insecure areas, HI seeks to create sustainable economic benefits and equitable distribution of resources.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Human Initiative (HI) is partnering with local
breeders to open up broader market access for sacrificial animals
through its Qurbani distribution programme ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447
Hijriah.

“The Qurbani programme is not only a means of worship for Muslims
during Eid al-Adha but also capable of driving the wheels of the
community economy, particularly for local breeders,” said Vice President
of Human Initiative Romi Ardiansyah in Jakarta on Thursday.

Through this programme, HI not only focuses on distributing
sacrificial meat to those in need but also empowers local breeders by
providing wider access to the sacrificial animal market.

Romi stated that the Qurbani distribution programme comes with three
main missions: facilitating the Qurbani worship, mobilising local
breeders, and extending benefits to the community.

According to him, Qurbani has a significant economic impact if
managed in a structured and sustainable manner. Therefore, HI ensures
that the procurement of sacrificial animals involves local breeders from
various regions.

“We want to ensure that Qurbani provides more equitable benefits,”
Romi said.

Furthermore, he explained that HI also maintains the quality of
sacrificial animals by conducting health checks and ensuring periodic
quality control.

These checks are carried out from two months before (H-2) up to one
day before (H-1) the slaughter to ensure the sacrificial animals remain
compliant with religious requirements and of the best quality.

“Human Initiative ensures that Qurbani is conducted in accordance
with religious law by selecting healthy animals of sufficient age,” Romi
stated.

The programme offers special early bird schemes, massive discounts
(flash sales), and special prices to enable more people to
participate.

Payment processes are made flexible through online services or
offline at the nearest Human Initiative branch offices.

In its distribution, the Qurbani programme targets areas with limited
food access, including remote regions and disaster-affected zones. Human
Initiative’s field teams distribute the sacrificial meat directly to
ensure more equitable and targeted distribution.

This year, the Qurbani distribution targets 145 regions covering 134
districts and cities across 27 provinces in Indonesia. The distribution
scope includes Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua, and island
regions such as Nusa Tenggara and Maluku.

Not only domestically, Human Initiative is also distributing Qurbani
to 11 countries, namely Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Somalia, Kenya,
Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, the Philippines, Thailand, and Myanmar.

These regions were selected based on the community’s needs for
limited food access.

Human Initiative hopes that this programme can serve as a bridge of
goodness that not only brings benefits to the recipients of the
sacrificial meat but also helps improve the welfare of local breeders in
various areas.
",
