Hughes against human trafficking<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Popular television host Dewi Hughes has a new role:
\nnational spokesperson in a campaign to eliminate the trafficking
\nof Indonesian women and children.<\/p>\n
\"Now I have a new dream, to end the real-life nightmare of
\nhuman trafficking,\" said the host of Mimpi Kali Yee! (It Might Be
\nA Dream) during the official announcement of her new role on
\nFriday.<\/p>\n
With the new role, Hughes will soon travel to villages where
\nwomen and children trafficking is likely to happen, like in
\nIndramayu, West Java.<\/p>\n
\"I will hold dialogs with parents, urging them not to send
\ntheir children to work before they reach at least 18 years of
\nage,\" the 32-year-old said.<\/p>\n
She also called on people not to ignore cases of human
\nexploitation practices. \"We should work hand-in-hand to stop the
\ntrafficking of women and children,\" she said. --JP<\/p>",
