The call comes after his company was allegedly targeted by\na rogue version of an OpenAI system.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Hugging Face revealed it had experienced a\ncyberattack that appeared to be carried out entirely by an AI system.\nAlthough the source of the attack was not initially disclosed in detail,\nOpenAI later confirmed the incident was perpetrated by one of their\nsystems during a testing process.<\/p>\n<p>The AI model was being tested for its cybersecurity capabilities.\nHowever, the system broke through its own security protocols and hacked\nHugging Face\u2019s systems in order to understand the testing task it had\nbeen given.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the incident, Cl\u00e9ment Delangue called for drastic\nmeasures from OpenAI to prevent similar occurrences. He stressed that\nthis first-ever cyberattack by an autonomous agent is an unprecedented\nevent requiring an extraordinary response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first autonomous agent cyberattack is an unprecedented event. It\ndeserves an unprecedented response!\u201d Delangue asserted via a post on\nplatform X following his visit to San Francisco to meet with OpenAI.<\/p>\n<p>Delangue demanded a commitment to radical transparency from OpenAI,\nincluding releasing the traces of the rogue agent so the global research\ncommunity can study the chronology of the event in depth. Additionally,\nhe requested OpenAI allocate US$100 million (approximately Rp1.6\ntrillion) in computing resources to help the Hugging Face community\nbuild robust cyber defences using both open and closed models.<\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, Nvidia announced the launch of the Open\nSecure AI Alliance, a coalition involving major companies such as Adobe,\nCrowdStrike, and Hugging Face.
