        "content": "<p>HSBC tidies up botanical garden<\/p>\n<p>BOGOR: Some 250 employees of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking<br>\nCorporation Limited (HSBC) cleaned up the Bogor Botanical Garden<br>\non Sunday and planted three trees, which are endemic to southern<br>\nSumatra and central Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>HSBC Indonesia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard McHowat<br>\nsaid the event was part of the bank's social program,<br>\nparticularly his company's concern for the environment here.<\/p>\n<p>\"Several weeks ago, we also sent some staff to Aceh to help<br>\nbuild a school there,\" said McHowat.<\/p>\n<p>The trees planted on Sunday were aglaia eryptrosperma from<br>\nsouthern Sumatra as well as aglaia tomentosa teijsm and aglaia<br>\nangustifolia from central Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>HSBC, which is operating in 79 countries around the world,<br>\nhas allocated some US$250,000 for social programs in Indonesia,<br>\nexcluding its commitment for relief and reconstruction in Aceh.<\/p>\n<p>HSBC launched the five-year \"investing in nature\" program<br>\nworth $50 million in 2002, with the aim of conserving the<br>\nenvironment. --JP<\/p>",
