HSBC donates social foundations<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: In conjunction with the 120th anniversary of
\nthe Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Indonesia,
\nthe bank donated Rp 120 million to three social foundations under
\nthe supervision of Yogyakarta Sultana GKR Hemas.<\/p>\n
Company chief executive Richard McHowat presented the donation
\non Friday to GKR Hemas, accompanied by Sultan Hamengkubuwono X,
\nthe Governor of Yogyakarta. The donation was part of the bank's
\nsocial relationship program, HSBC Kita.<\/p>\n
Accompanying McHowat were HSBC Indonesia senior vice president
\nof personal financial services Lily Budiono and HSBC Semarang
\nbranch manager Andre Sudjono.<\/p>\n
"We will continue sharing our success with the local
\ncommunity, including Yogyakarta, through our HSBC Kita programs
\nthat are focused on education, the environment and social
\nwelfare. That's part of our commitment to the wealth of the local
\ncommunity," McHowat said.<\/p>\n
The donation will be distributed to the Yayasan Sayap Ibu
\norphanage, the Yayasan Wredha Mulya old people's home and the
\nIndonesian Cancer Foundation.<\/p>\n
The bank held other activities to mark its anniversary,
\nproviding free English classes, helping out with the renovation
\nof elementary school buildings, supplying textbooks to schools
\nand providing stationery to needy children. --JP<\/p>",
