This measure aims to prevent identity misuse while increasing\npublic trust in the data collection process. The Daily Chair of the 2026\nEconomic Census at BPS, Windhiarso Ponco Adi, stated that all census\nofficers deployed to the field are equipped with official identification\nthat can be checked directly by the public. \u201cOur officers are equipped\nwith vests labelled Sensus Ekonomi 2026 and other identification such as\nname tags and letters of assignment. The name tag can be confirmed\nbecause it has a barcode, so it can be traced whether they are genuine\nofficers or impostors,\u201d Windhiarso said in Jakarta, quoted Monday\n(6\/7\/2026). He explained that all officers visiting homes or business\npremises are official personnel assigned by the district\/city BPS\naccording to their respective work areas. Therefore, the public should\nnot hesitate to ask officers to show their identification before the\ninterview process begins. According to him, BPS is also continuously\ncoordinating with various stakeholders, ranging from local governments,\nsub-district heads, village heads, neighbourhood and community unit\nheads, to community leaders, to provide information regarding the\nimplementation of the 2026 Economic Census to residents.
