The government has reopened the National Internship Programme (PMN)\nas part of an effort to broaden job access for new graduates. The\nprogramme, managed through the Ministry of Manpower, is claimed to be an\neffective bridge for participants to enter formal employment.<\/p>\n
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed that approximately 30%\nof participants in the 2025 National Internship Programme were directly\nhired as permanent employees after completing the scheme. Out of a total\nof 100,000 interns, around 30,000 people successfully obtained permanent\njobs, while another 30% were still awaiting call-ups within two to three\nmonths after the programme ended.<\/p>\n
\u201cInterestingly, according to Ministry of Manpower data from 2025,\nafter the internship programme concluded, out of 100,000 participants,\nabout 30% or 30,000 participants were directly accepted as permanent\nemployees. And another 30% are waiting for call-ups within the next 2-3\nmonths,\u201d Teddy stated.<\/p>\n
Teddy explained that through this programme, university graduates can\ntake part in the PMN for six months at partner companies. During the\ninternship, participants receive a salary ranging from Rp3.5 million to\nRp6 million per month, depending on the minimum wage of the regency or\ncity where they work.<\/p>\n
For those wishing to register for the National Internship Programme,\nthe first step is to create an account on the website\nsiapkerja.kemnaker.go.id. After that, participants are required to\nupload a professional and formal profile photo, ensuring the face is\nclearly visible and dressed neatly.<\/p>\n
Participants must also complete their biodata in full, including\nname, National Identity Number (NIK), place and date of birth, address,\nand a brief personal description. All uploaded data must be correct and\nvalid to support the selection process.<\/p>\n
The next stage is to complete the history of work experience or\nprevious internships. The Ministry of Manpower also requests\nparticipants to attach internship certificates as proof of experience.\nAdditionally, participants can add information about training they have\nattended along with supporting certificates. Although optional, training\ndata can enhance a participant\u2019s competency rating in the eyes of the\nhost company.<\/p>\n
Participants are also asked to complete their educational data,\nincluding education level, university name, Grade Point Average (GPA),\nyear of graduation, and to upload their final diploma. Educational\ninformation is a crucial component in the process of matching\nparticipants with available internship positions.<\/p>\n
For those who hold professional certifications, such as from the\nNational Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) or other credible\ninstitutions, these documents can be attached to the profile.\nCertifications relevant to the position applied for can serve as proof\nof competence and increase the chances of passing the selection.<\/p>\n
The government also allows participants to list various achievements,\nboth academic and non-academic. This information can be an added value\nand strengthen a participant\u2019s personal branding in the eyes of\nrecruiters.<\/p>\n
Foreign language skills and technical abilities also need to be\nincluded in the participant\u2019s profile. The more relevant the language\nand skills possessed are to the requirements of the internship position,\nthe greater the participant\u2019s chance of being selected by the\norganiser.<\/p>\n
For the implementation of PMN Batch I 2026, the government has\nscheduled a socialisation period from June to 28 July 2026.
