WhatsApp has introduced three new security features in its\napplication. These features will provide account protection and give\nusers their own control.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn WhatsApp, your conversations are only yours and the person you\nare chatting with. That is why we built end-to-end encryption by\ndefault, and continue to add new ways to keep your account safe and\nunder your control,\u201d WhatsApp said in a statement quoted on Friday\n(28\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
One of the features is Passkey. Users can log back into WhatsApp\nusing a fingerprint, Face ID, or screen lock code.<\/p>\n
This method will make self-verification faster and more secure, and\nit does not use a code or PIN. Each account can use more than one\nPasskey.<\/p>\n
Android and iOS users can use it by going to Settings > Account\n> Passkey.<\/p>\n
Next, two-step verification has become stronger. The six-digit PIN is\nno longer used, but has been upgraded to a full password that is longer,\nalphanumeric and with special characters.<\/p>\n
The final feature is knowing information about other accounts that\ncall the user. On Android, information about callers who are not in the\ncontact list will appear, such as the country of origin of the number\nand whether the user and the caller are in the same group.<\/p>\n
