        "content": "<p>PT Pertamina (Persero) is continuously strengthening its Health,\nSafety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) culture as a foundation for\nmaintaining operational reliability while supporting national energy\nsecurity. This commitment was emphasised at the opening of the HSSE\nJambore I 2026, themed \u2018Energizing One Pertamina: Operational Capability\nAssurance\u2019, at the HSE Training Center in Sungai Gerong, Palembang, on\nThursday (23\/7).<\/p>\n<p>PT Pertamina (Persero) President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri\nstated that as a national energy company, Pertamina is growing with\nincreasingly complex challenges, both in terms of operations,\ntechnology, and business expansion. He noted that all this growth must\nbe supported by a strong HSSE foundation. \u2018When we talk about Pertamina\ntoday, we are talking about a large system that supports national energy\nsecurity. The higher the targets to be achieved, the more solid the\nfoundation that must be built. That foundation is HSSE,\u2019 Simon said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that HSSE should not only be interpreted as compliance\nwith procedures, but as a system that ensures all operations run safely,\nreliably, and consistently. Simon also conveyed that Pertamina\u2019s HSSE\nperformance has shown a positive trend throughout the year. However, he\nstressed that these achievements must be accompanied by sustained\nvigilance. \u2018In HSSE, good achievements must not lead to complacency.\nRisks always exist, so discipline and vigilance must be continuously\nstrengthened. We must always be mindful and cautious,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, PT Pertamina (Persero) President Commissioner Mochamad\nIriawan asserted that safety must be a core value in every operational\nactivity. Strengthening the safety culture, according to him, needs to\nbe supported by improving worker competence, continuous coaching, and\ninvestment in training and certification. He also emphasised the\nimportance of visible leadership, where leaders are present in the field\nto ensure operations run safely and every potential risk can be\nanticipated early. \u2018Leaders need to be present directly in the field,\nengage in dialogue with workers, and ensure every job is done safely.\nThis includes having the courage to stop risky work,\u2019 Iriawan said.<\/p>\n<p>Carrying the theme of Operational Capability Assurance, the HSSE\nJambore I 2026 serves as a platform for the Pertamina Group to\nstrengthen competencies, align HSSE standards, and ensure operational\nreadiness across all business lines.
