        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) continues to\nadvance the construction of the Serang\u2013Panimbang Toll Road in Banten\nprovince, which is one of the national strategic projects.<\/p>\n<p>To date, construction progress on several toll sections has entered\nthe final stages and is targeted to be completed gradually by the end of\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that the toll road\nconstruction not only serves as transportation infrastructure but also\nas an instrument for regional development equity and strengthening the\nlocal economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToll road development always has a strategic meaning, not only for\nphysical infrastructure but also for strengthening the foundation of the\nnational economy,\u201d explained Dody, quoted from a release on Wednesday\n(29\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The Serang\u2013Panimbang Toll Road has a total length of 83.67 kilometres\nand is divided into three sections.<\/p>\n<p>Section 1 Serang\u2013Rangkasbitung is 26.45 km long, Section 2\nRangkasbitung\u2013Cileles is 24.17 km long, and Section 3 Cileles\u2013Panimbang\nis 33 km long.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, construction of Section 2 Rangkasbitung\u2013Cileles has now\nreached 98.64% construction progress with 86.71% land acquisition. This\nsection is targeted for completion in the second quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Construction of Section 3 Cileles\u2013Panimbang, which is the\ngovernment\u2019s portion, is also progressing steadily.<\/p>\n<p>In Phase 1, work progress has reached 99.88%. Meanwhile, Phase 2\nwork, divided into several packages, is targeted to be completed\ngradually by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Serang\u2013Panimbang Toll Road is designed with a planned speed of\n100 km\/h, featuring four lanes in both directions and a 3.8-metre-wide\nmedian.<\/p>\n<p>It is also equipped with several interchanges such as Walantaka,\nCikeusal, Tunjung Teja, Rangkasbitung, Cikulur, Cileles, Bojong, and\nPanimbang.<\/p>\n<p>This toll road passes through the City of Serang, Serang Regency,\nLebak Regency, and Pandeglang Regency.<\/p>\n<p>Its presence is expected to accelerate economic and tourism\ndevelopment in Banten, including supporting access to the Tanjung Lesung\nSpecial Economic Zone and the Ujung Kulon National Park tourism\narea.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, travel time from Jakarta to Tanjung Lesung is projected\nto take about two to three hours, shorter than the previous four to five\nhours.<\/p>",
