Housing project in trouble<\/p>\n
KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: The resettlement project in Puupi
\nVillage, Kolono Subdistrict, Southeast Sulawesi, is in trouble as
\nmany houses have yet to be finished, says a legislator.<\/p>\n
La Ode Palaido, a member of the provincial legislative
\ncouncil, who visited the transmigration site this week, said here
\non Friday that the Rp600 million-project had been declared
\ncompleted, but many houses had not yet been built.<\/p>\n
\"The development company that carried out the housing project
\nhas left the resettlement site, while the local transmigration
\noffice could not explain why the project is not completed,\" he
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to him, the local transmigration office ought to be
\nheld responsible for the alleged irregularities in the project.<\/p>\n
He said the development company should have built 100 houses
\nfor transmigrants, mostly from restive Maluku, but it had
\ncompleted only a few dozen, while many others were unfinished.<\/p>\n
He said he would ask the legislative council to call on the
\ngovernment prosecutor's office to investigate irregularities in
