        "content": "<p>BEKASI, KOMPAS.com - A housemaid, R (53), stole a number of gold\nitems belonging to her employer, YA, in the Alamanda Indah housing\ncomplex, Bekasi City.<\/p>\n<p>Bekasi City Police Chief, Commissioner Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, said\nthat the perpetrator initially met a man who claimed to be \u201cKyai S\u201d and\npromised to multiply money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe perpetrator met someone on social media who claimed to be Kyai S\nand said he could multiply money. The perpetrator was interested in\ntrying it,\u201d said Kusumo, Friday (15\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The stolen jewellery included white gold necklaces, pendants,\nchildren\u2019s bracelets, and dragon scale chain bracelets. The perpetrator\neven replaced one of the victim\u2019s pieces of jewellery with a suspected\nfake bracelet to avoid detection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe perpetrator also replaced one of the victim\u2019s pieces of\njewellery with a suspected fake bracelet,\u201d said Kusumo.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the stolen jewellery was then sold and pawned in several\nplaces in Bekasi City, such as Toko Emas Kemenangan in Pasar Pejuang\nJaya and Pegadaian Boulevard Hijau Harapan Indah.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kusumo, the proceeds from the sale and pawning of the\njewellery amounted to tens of millions of rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne children\u2019s gold necklace was sold for Rp 2.5 million. A white\ngold necklace and pendant were pawned for Rp 14 million, three\nchildren\u2019s bracelets for Rp 7 million, a white dragon scale chain\nbracelet for Rp 24 million, and a yellow dragon scale chain bracelet for\nRp 33 million,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The theft was uncovered when the victim checked a red wallet\ncontaining jewellery in her bedroom on Sunday (15\/3\/2026). The victim\nbecame suspicious after finding only one bracelet, which she suspected\nwas fake, in the wallet.<\/p>\n<p>Because she knew she had never owned the bracelet, the victim asked\nthe perpetrator about the whereabouts of her jewellery, and the theft\nwas eventually revealed.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the police secured several pieces of evidence,\nincluding a red wallet, imitation bracelet, pawn ticket, and proof of\npawning transactions.<\/p>\n<p>For her actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 477 of Law\nNumber 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code regarding aggravated\ntheft, with a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>(Reporter: Nurpini Aulia Rapika)<\/p>",
