        "content": "<p>House seat should be vacant: KPU says<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The General Elections Commission (KPU) said on<br>\nWednesday that the House of Representatives' seat from the West<br>\nIrian Jaya electoral district should be left vacant, following a<br>\nrow between the Christian-based Prosperous Peace Party (PDS) and<br>\nthe United Democratic Nationhood Party (PPDK).<\/p>\n<p>KPU deputy chairman Ramlan Surbakti said the Constitutional<br>\nCourt decision, which awarded the House seat to candidate Saut M.<br>\nHasibuan of the PDS, at the expense of the PPDK, could not be<br>\nrevoked by any regulation.<\/p>\n<p>The PDS central board had agreed to relinquish the seat<br>\nawarded by the court after learning that vote-rigging had taken<br>\nplace to swell the votes for Saut.
