        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Chairman of Commission XII of the\nIndonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Bambang Patijaya, has\nrevealed that the government is preparing two main steps to resolve the\nexport disruption of nickel products. Specifically, the issue concerns\nexports halted due to the presence of rare earth metals (LTJ).<\/p>\n<p>Bambang stated that he had communicated directly with the Director\nGeneral of Minerals and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral\nResources (ESDM), Tri Winarno. According to him, the ministry is\ncurrently focusing on resolving the issue in the short term while\nsimultaneously improving governance for the long term.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just spoke on the phone with the Director General of Minerals and\nCoal, Tri Winarno. First, there are two things to be achieved. First, in\nthe short term, we are asking for an update on the current situation.\nWhat is the solution, because exports are not just stopping,\u201d Bambang\nsaid during the CNBC Indonesia Coffee Morning event on Thursday\n(30\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to seeking a short-term solution to resume export\nactivities, Bambang mentioned that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral\nResources is also preparing regulatory improvements to prevent similar\nissues from recurring. \u201cThat will be drafted soon so that other\nregulations become clearer. He noted that the export bottleneck was triggered by the absence\nof definitive regulations governing the maximum limit of rare earth\nmetal content as a by-product.<\/p>\n<p>Dudung explained that he had received reports from several business\nactors regarding the hampered export activities. The regulatory vacuum\nhas led to differing interpretations among business players and law\nenforcement officials, causing the current standstill. He stressed that\nuntil a regulation on LTJ content is established, law enforcement should\nnot create their own interpretations that ultimately disrupt export\nactivities.<\/p>",
