        "content": "<p>Commission III of the House of Representatives believes that the use\nof the PDP Law in the case involving Hera, the former domestic worker of\nErin Wartia, is inappropriate,\u201d said the Chairman of Commission III of\nthe House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, to reporters on Saturday\n(16\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe law should not be used excessively against ordinary people,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the use of the PDP Law in the case does not meet the\nrequirements set out in the law. He also pointed out the nature of the\ndisputed matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoreover, the disputed matter does not fall under the category of\n\u2018personal data\u2019 as defined in Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal\nData Protection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the disputed matter in the case only consists of\nphotos of the house and photos with the children, or ordinary\ndocumentation that does not contain a person\u2019s personal identity.\nTherefore, the use of the PDP Law is not appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe accusations against Hera are very inappropriate because personal\ndata under the PDP Law is essentially related to personal identity such\nas ID cards, family cards, tax identification numbers, health data, bank\naccounts, and biometric data,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that the spirit of the formation of the PDP Law is to\nprotect the public from the misuse of sensitive data and digital crime.\nHe said that the PDP Law is not intended to expand the criminalization\nof ordinary people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommission III of the House of Representatives is committed to\nprotecting ordinary people so that they are not easily criminalized. The\nstate must not be harsh on the weak and lenient on the strong. Law\nenforcement must prioritize justice, proportionality, and humanity,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, as reported by detikHot, Erin officially took legal\naction by reporting Hera to the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police.\nAccompanied by her legal team, Erin charged the former domestic worker\nwith the PDP Law.<\/p>\n<p>This police report is a follow-up to Hera\u2019s alleged dissemination of\nErin\u2019s family\u2019s privacy through social media without permission.
