        "content": "<p>Member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives\n(DPR RI) Jamaluddin Malik has expressed his support for the government\u2019s\nsteps to accelerate the development of a national hydrogen\necosystem.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, hydrogen development is not merely part of the\nenergy transition strategy, but should also be seized as a moment to\nbuild technological mastery, strengthen research, and prepare a\nworkforce capable of competing in the future energy industry.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaluddin Malik said that the development of 93 hydrogen projects\nwith an investment potential of around Rp32 trillion represents a\nstrategic opportunity for Indonesia to strengthen its national industry.\nFor this reason, incoming investment must result in technology transfer,\nincreased Local Content Levels (TKDN), a stronger national industry, and\nmore opportunities for Indonesian workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the commitment of President Prabowo Subianto,\nsubsequently implemented by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources\nBahlil Lahadalia, to accelerate the development of the national hydrogen\necosystem. This step must become a moment to build technological\nindependence, strengthen innovation, and enhance the competitiveness of\nIndonesian industry amid the development of the global energy industry,\u201d\nJamaluddin Malik said in a written statement on Friday, 24 July\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>In his view, Indonesia has great potential to develop a hydrogen\nindustry, supported by abundant new and renewable energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>Geothermal areas in Central Java, West Java, North Sumatra and\nLampung, hydropower potential in North Kalimantan and Sulawesi, and\nvarious industrial zones across Indonesia must be prepared to become\npart of the national hydrogen ecosystem through strengthened research,\nvocational education, infrastructure, and collaboration between\ngovernment, universities, state-owned enterprises, and the business\ncommunity.<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that Indonesia must not become merely a market for\nhydrogen technology. Hydrogen development must spur the birth of\ndomestic manufacturing industries, raise TKDN levels, strengthen\nnational supply chains, and produce more engineers, researchers, and\nworkers with competence in the future energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaluddin Malik added that Commission XII of the DPR RI will\ncontinue to oversee the development of the hydrogen ecosystem to ensure\nit delivers real benefits for the nation.<\/p>\n<p>In his view, the success of hydrogen should be measured not only by\nthe size of investment, but also by Indonesia\u2019s ability to master the\ntechnology, build a national industry, improve the quality of human\nresources, and create added value for the economy.<\/p>",
