Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The leadership of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives (DPR RI) received an audience from officials of the\nAssociation of All Indonesian Regency Governments (APKASI) in the\nLeadership Room, Nusantara III Building, Senayan Parliamentary Complex,\non Friday, 24 July 2026.<\/p>\n
The audience was led directly by Deputy Speakers of the DPR RI Sufmi\nDasco Ahmad and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.<\/p>\n
Also in attendance were APKASI Chairman General Bursah Zarnubi along\nwith his officials and a number of regents from various provinces.<\/p>\n
The regents conveyed a range of inputs and aspirations directly to\nthe DPR RI leadership, covering everything from regional governance to\nsupport for accelerating development in their respective areas.<\/p>\n
One of the main issues raised during the dialogue was the budget\nefficiency policy, which has recently sparked public debate.<\/p>\n
In response, Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal expressed his\nunderstanding of these dynamics and reaffirmed a shared commitment with\nthe government to formulate the best solutions for the development and\nprogress of regions across Indonesia.<\/p>\n
He said the DPR RI continues to open the widest possible space for\nAPKASI and all regents to channel their aspirations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe in the DPR RI are here to listen directly to the voices of the\nregents. The aspirations from APKASI today are important input for us to\ncontinue pushing budget policies that favour the acceleration of\nregional development,\u201d said Cucun.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Dasco added that the results of today\u2019s dialogue would\nserve as material for the DPR RI to continue coordinating with the\ncentral government, so that the direction of the budget efficiency\npolicy remains aligned with regional development needs.<\/p>\n
For his part, APKASI Chairman General Bursah Zarnubi expressed\nappreciation for the dialogue space provided by the DPR RI leadership,\nwhile emphasising the importance of synergy between the central\ngovernment and the regions amid current fiscal challenges.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appreciate the dialogue space given by the DPR RI leadership\ntoday. APKASI hopes that future budget efficiency policies will still\nleave room for regions to maintain the quality of basic public services,\nfrom education and health to infrastructure,\u201d said Bursah.<\/p>\n
