        "content": "<p>Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - Member of the House of Representatives\nCommission I Bambang Heri Purnama stated that his side has proposed\nupgrading the Indonesian Navy Base (Lanal) Banjarmasin, currently Type\nB, to Type A following the development dynamics of South Kalimantan as a\nsupporter of the Nusantara Capital (IKN). \u201cI have met with the Navy\nChief of Staff to convey this proposal directly, and he strongly\nsupports it,\u201d Bambang said in Banjarmasin on Sunday. As one of the\nrequirements, he revealed, Lanal Banjarmasin must have its own dock. He\nalso expressed full readiness to support the construction of a dock in\nthe Barito River waters as required for a Type A Lanal standard.\nAccording to him, South Kalimantan deserves to have a Type A Lanal based\non the region\u2019s geography and its long history during the struggle for\nIndonesia\u2019s independence. \u201cBanjarmasin is nicknamed the city of a\nthousand rivers; we also have a national hero from the Navy, Brigadier\nGeneral Hasan Basry, whose name is immortalised on the KRI Hasan Basry\nship,\u201d said the legislator from the South Kalimantan I electoral\ndistrict. Moreover, institutions like the South Kalimantan Police (Polda\nKalsel) have already been Type A status, led by a two-star general\npolice chief, and the Korem 101\/Antasari by a one-star general.\nTherefore, he said, it is time for Lanal Banjarmasin to also be led by a\none-star general.
