        "content": "<p>Hotel site sales postponed<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuters): Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority<br>\n(URA) said yesterday it was postponing the sale of two hotel<br>\nsites to beyond this year.<\/p>\n<p>The sales were originally scheduled for this month.<\/p>\n<p>The URA noted in a statement announcing the postponement that<br>\nthe Singapore Tourism Promotion Board expected growth in tourist<br>\narrivals to be affected by regional currency and stock market<br>\nturmoil, as well as by the haze problem.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore and other countries in the region were hit by smog<br>\nin August through October caused by fires in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\"With the sale of two URA hotel sites...earlier this year,<br>\nenough land has been released for hotel development this year to<br>\nmeet the needs of the tourism industry,\" the URA said.<\/p>\n<p>\"A review will be conducted early next year on whether the<br>\nsites will be sold next year,\" it said.<\/p>",
