        "content": "<p>Hotel Norbek's prejudicial policy<\/p>\n<p>From Media Indonesia<\/p>\n<p>On Feb. 22, 1995, I accompanied a Canadian friend, who is a<br>\nscholar, to Jalan Jaksa in Central Jakarta. He wanted to find a<br>\nhomestay close to the business center and also to meet new<br>\npeople.<\/p>\n<p>Finally he decided to stay at the Hotel Norbek Nordwijk at 14<br>\nJl. Jaksa, which we found in a guide book. Upon entering the<br>\nhotel, to my great shock, I was driven away by a woman (in her<br>\n40s) who I presumed to be the proprietor of the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>I found out that only foreign tourists are allowed to enter<br>\nthe hotel. Indonesian nationals are strictly forbidden from<br>\nentering the hotel and cannot even wait in the lobby.<\/p>\n<p>I was dumbfounded and cannot believe that a hotel in Jakarta<br>\nwould treat people in such a way.
