        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, chairman of Indonesia\u2019s National\nEconomic Council, has stated that the sixth Vice President of the\nRepublic, Try Sutrisno, possessed a remarkably high fighting spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Luhut recalled that Try Sutrisno had consistently maintained\nthroughout his life that he remained in good health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been some time now. He always felt he remained healthy, his\nfighting spirit stayed high. Even though we knew he was ill, he would\nstill insist he was well,\u201d Luhut said at Kalibata Military Cemetery in\nJakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>He urged younger generations to emulate Try Sutrisno\u2019s character.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs young people, we should follow the example set by Mr Tri. In my\nview, his conduct can serve as a model for our nation \u2013 he consistently\nspoke of national unity and cohesion, did not yield easily to criticism,\nlistened carefully, and examined available data. I believe Try set a\ngood example in that regard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Try Sutrisno passed away at the age of 90 at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto\nHospital in Jakarta on Monday, 2 March 2026 at 06.58 Western Indonesian\nTime.<\/p>\n<p>Try was buried at Kalibata Military Cemetery on Monday afternoon,\nfollowing prayers at Sunda Kelapa Mosque in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The funeral ceremony for Try Sutrisno was directly led by President\nPrabowo Subianto.<\/p>\n<p>A number of dignitaries attended the procession, including Vice\nPresident Gibran Rakabuming and ministers from the Red and White\nCabinet.<\/p>\n<p>The family stated that the sixth Vice President of the Republic did\nnot have a specific medical history that caused his death.<\/p>\n<p>Try\u2019s son, Taufik Dwi Cahyono, explained that his father\u2019s health\ndeclined due to his advanced age of 90 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy father\u2019s condition was due to his age \u2013 everything declines at\nthat age. There was no specific illness. It was simply age-related\ndecline in his respiratory capacity and similar factors,\u201d Taufik said at\nRSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital on Monday, according to Kompas TV.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the RSPAD medical team and presidential physicians had\nprovided the best possible treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(He was admitted from) 16 February. So it was sudden \u2013 his appetite\ndeclined, he was brought here, his condition fluctuated, he was given\nmedicine and food,\u201d Taufik said.<\/p>",
